What is a Discovery Day?

Franchisors, as part of the validation process hold what’s called a “Discovery Day,” which is typically one of the last steps of  a candidate will have in their due diligence of exploring a franchise . After weeks of introductions, validation, and understanding the business itself, Discovery Day is an invitation for qualified candidates to meet the team and see inside the business. 

As a prospective franchisee, part of what you are investing in is the franchise’s team members and culture. At City Wide, attending a Discovery Day Event is your opportunity to meet our Home Office team in person and do a deep dive with the leaders of Operations, Training, National Business Development, IT, and Accounting to name a few. You will be immersed in the City Wide culture and learn ways the corporate team can help you accomplish your goals through business ownership.

Discovery Days are a key benefit to franchising vs. individual business ownership because they are helpful in confirming if a potential franchisee is the right fit for a franchisor, and they also allow for a much deeper and more extensive look beyond the surface of what has already been discussed over the phone or through a webinar. Alternately, the franchisor has a chance to meet the candidate in person and see how they might fit in with the franchise.
